About Us
I am Shaham Ajward — an educator, scientist, entrepreneur, politician, and youth leader with an unwavering commitment to education, innovation, and social progress. Rooted in a strong background in science and driven by a passion for community empowerment, my journey has been dedicated to inspiring young minds and championing meaningful change.
I completed my schooling at Gampola Zahira College, followed by a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master’s in Plant Cell and Tissue Culture. Currently, I serve as a full-time PhD researcher at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, where my research focuses on in vitro micropropagation of Valeriana mooni.
I am the founder of Science Academy SL (PVT) Ltd, an institution that began as a modest tuition center in Gampola and has grown into a government-approved educational platform. We currently support students from Grades 6 to 11 in both English and Tamil mediums, offering subjects such as Mathematics, Science, History, and Commerce. Our strength lies in a passionate team of undergraduate mentors who are committed to nurturing discipline, academic excellence, and personal growth.
In 2024, I also established SERENDiB High School, dedicated to GCE A/L students. With a growing student body of over 120 learners, our mission is to guide and empower young scholars toward academic and career success.
My leadership extends beyond the classroom. I have served as Senior Head of Students at Gampola Zahira College (2014–2016), Secretary of the Muslim Students Union at the University of Colombo (2018–2019), President of TrendSetters, and General Secretary of the Past Pupils Association of Gampola Zahira College (2023–2024). These experiences have deepened my belief in the transformative power of youth leadership and collective action.
In 2024, I was honored as the Best Male Presenter at YBB’s Middle East Youth Summit, a testament to my ability to inspire and lead on global platforms. As an active member of the National People’s Power (NPP), I continue to advocate for educational reform, equitable access, and principled governance.
At the core of all my endeavors lies a simple but powerful mission: to serve the people. Whether it’s guiding a student to success or contributing to national policy, I believe in action over words, impact over popularity, and service over status.
